New for 2008/2009

This year Class Representatives will be trained for a full day, Training will be provided by Student Participation in Quality Scotland (SPARQS) and also in- house staff. Class reps will also have training this year in minute taking and on how to co-facilitate a focus group.

This year we have also teamed up with the Volunteer centre in Falkirk, who will work with the Class Representatives to keep track of the hours they carry out through an online diary, they will in turn receive a volunteer certificate in recognition of their contribution as Class Representative in June 2009.

Student Council

Class Representatives will be invited to attend Student Council (twice a year) which will be facilitated by the Student Union President. This will replace the Class Representative Meetings held previously.

Incentives

  • Volunteer Certificate- in recognition for their contribution.

  • They will learn some great skills which they wouldn’t otherwise gain through their course such as co-facilitating a focus group and minute taking.

  • All Class reps who attend the training sessions this year will be automatically entered into a free draw on the day to win an Ipod Nano.

  • All Class Reps this year will receive a USB Flash Drive. They will also be given Student Union promotional materials including book bag, diary and stationary. These will be handed out at the training sessions.
